(Extraordinary Experience ), on August 2008,
there was an announcement from my Indonesian teacher that there would be
theater competition. The theater competition was organized by DINAS PENDIDIKAN
of Ponorogo for the students of high school. My high school participated in the
competition, so then my teacher opened an open audition to pick the school
representatives. All students could participate in this open audition except
for the third year students, because the third year students had to prepare for
the national exam.
I was interested
to follow this competition, so I participated in the open audition. In this
open audition, I had to compete with other students who got more talents than
what I got . Although the audition was pretty tight, I kept following it .There
some steps during the audition that I had to do. After I had followed the
audition, I waited for the announcement from the teacher. Finally, there was
notification included in member of theater group in my school, previously I
don’t suppose if chosen. There was eight students that chose for represent
school. I direct prepare self to follow to the activity which had been
scheduled by teacher.
Then I had
to follow the training schedule that made by my teacher. On the first meeting,
my teacher gave me two choices, to be a musician or a poetry reader. Then, I
said that I wished to become the poetry reader and, thanked God, my teacher
even also agreed with me. On the second meeting, my teacher showed us the drama
script and started to practice the move. During the practice, I needed to
practice 2 roles, a poetry reader and a warok reog dancer. During the training, we practiced for 4 straight hours. We
were also trained by a local actor from Ponorogo, he was also representing the
artistic builder and my teacher’s friend. There were many precious lessons that
I got from him, for example: inspiring into a character, playing moves
naturally, doing the effective dialogue methods, controlling soul emotion, etc.
We liked it to practice with him, because he treated us as his friends. The
training lasted from August 2nd to September 3rd, or more than a month. It was
two days away from the D-day, all element was such as physical, costume, equipment,
etc, was set. After we prayed together with the headmaster, we went to the event place.
September
05, 2008, was the D-day and I had to show a total performance on the stage. The
competition was located in building, named cadika
Ponorogo. My group were optimist that we could become a winner, but we
should not be careless, because all other participants were also quite
talented. On there I had to differentiate between friends and opponent since I
got some friends from other schools which participated in this competition as
well. All participants here only had one target, be a winner. My group could be
a winner, only if each member could show the best performance and unify all the
elements we need. And finally, it’s our turn to perform. I tried to keep head
on and pray to Allah S.W.T, I hope that after doing all these efforts, we would
get the maximum result. We had to minimallize the mistakes. It was more than
fifteen minutes that we’d been on the stage, and finally, our performance had
finally been over. We went back to the participant chairs. I was quite nervous,
waiting for the result to be announced. But before that happened, we needed to
wait for the other participants to perform.
Finally,
there came the thing that we’d waited the most,the announcement of the winner. It
was kind of distressful for us to wait committee announcing the 3rd
place and the 2nd place . And finally, the committee mentioned the 1st
place and it turned to be my school. All crew from SMAZABA Ponorogo and I
spontaneously doing sujud because we were so grateful to Allah SWT,for becoming the winner. Then,
this news just spreading quickly to the school and even the local newspaper
reported it. After that, in some other time, we performed in two other events
which were held by DINAS PENDIDIKAN and local government of Ponorogo. In DINAS PENDIDIKAN
event, we were performing for the celebration of KORPRI day. In the other
event, the local government was celebrating the anniversary of 513th
of Ponorogo. Our theme was “City Walk of Ponorogo”. This event was attended by
the regent, functionaries of local government, and common people.
